The Windsor Chapter of the Institute of Power Engineers (IPE) is an organization dedicated to the advancement, education and support of all power engineers in the Essex- Kent counties. We meet at Place Concord at 7:30 PM on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.

The Institute of Power Engineers was formed in 1940 in Toronto, Ontario. It is a Canada wide organization that consists of branches across Canada. It is dedicated to the advancement, education and support of Power Engineers. Membership in the IPE helps strengthen your input and knowledge regarding matters that concern power engineers in industry and legislation at the municipal, provincial and federal levels. Our goal is to guarantee standards and regulations for:

  • The safety of the general public
  • The benefit and safety of Power Engineers. The safe operation and maintenance of the physical plants of which we are responsible for.
  • Working in cooperation with educational facilities and government in the development of courses in Power Engineering.

Our local members receive monthly newsletters which keep them up to date on current events. Monthly meetings are held during the winter months at Place Concord’s Meeting Hall which is located in the basement adjacent to the Oasis Bar. Plant tours are scheduled throughout the year to allow members to visit sites that normally are not accessible to the general public. Events such as bowling, beach picnics and golfing outings are scheduled activities. Once per year our goal is to plan an out of town facility tour of a large industrial site.
