Tribute to a Life Member
It is with respect to a LIFE Member of 57 years as an active member and mentor to many of our colleagues in power engineering and the profession in Canada and the Vancouver branch of our organization, that it Saddens me to report that George G. Anderson PE passed away peacefully on April 8, 2020 at the age of 91 years.
His career in power engineering began with the Merchant Navy during the war years and progressed on wards through many different plants and organizations inclusive of his involvement and dedication to the Institute of Power Engineers, as well as the IUOE – International Union of Operating Engineers Local 882, in various positions and as the International Representative for Canada
George also contributed his photographic skills as the Vancouver branch photographer along with the archives and history of the Vancouver branch of the IPE as acknowledged in the IPE History, published by the IPE on its 75th anniversary of 2014.
