At home with his loving wife by his side on Monday, October 28, 2019, Earl Mather of Ottawa at the age of 95. Beloved husband for 65 years to Audrey (Clingin). Loving father of Cheryl (Darwin) Foster, Paul (Robin), and Karen (Frank) Westerlaken. Will be missed by his grandchildren: Scott (Ashley), D’arcy (Alexandra), Travis (Isabel) Foster; Sydney, Erin, Kieran Mather; and Shawn (Courtney), Lauren Westerlaken. Great- Grandfather to Abram and Daxton (Scott and Ashley). Predeceased by siblings Lyall, Glen, Ellis and Muriel Somerville. Earl and Audrey have lived in Elmvale Acres for 64 years, the last 6 of which were at the Perley Rideau Apartments. They were founding members of Emmanuel United Church. Earl retired in 1988 after 40 years with Metropolitan Life and was recognized as a Life Member of the Institute of Power Engineers (IPE). Friends are invited to visit at Lupton Hall in the Perley and Rideau Veterans Health Centre, 1750 Russell Rd, Ottawa on Friday, November 1, after 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Reception to follow. Earl will be interred in Middleville Greenwood Cemetery at a private service. For those wishing, in memoriam donations to Alzheimer Society Canada, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
